Jamie has an extensive history of formal art tuition and was avidly involved in theatre productions. Jamie designed and directed short films; this passion for visual communication led him to attend UBS Film School – Sydney University (2003) with electives in Production Design and Cinematography. Jamie continued his film study at AFTRS, completing courses in Art Direction for Film and TV (2007) Production Design, Location Survey and Management for Film and Cinematography (2009). In 2007 Jamie was art department assistant and set dresser on Australian feature film The Square directed by Nash Edgerton (production designer Elizabeth Mary Moore). He has also enjoyed being part of the creation of music video clips for some of Australia’s best artists including Angus and Julia Stone, Empire of the Sun, Hilltop Hoods and Former Child Stars. During his time at NIDA (2008-2010) Jamie designed a wide range of productions and events including exhibitions, fundraisers and live music performances. These diverse experiences have honed his passion for and skills in theatre production. For the Adelaide Fringe Festival 2010 he designed set and costumes for Heiner Muller’s Medea.
